Job Description
OVERVIEW
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the above position tenable at our Lilongwe Facility.
The seasonal redrier operator will be responsible for operating the lamina redrier to consistently produce redried tobacco products that meets/exceeds customer specifications while adhering to customer processing standards, EHSQ standards and regulatory requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set, monitor, and adjust the redrier equipment in line with the operating procedures to meet customer quality specifications.
Monitor quality results and make proactive adjustments to the redrier equipment to ensure consistent and within specification results are achieved throughout the production run.
Prompt reactive adjustment to reverse generation of non-conforming products.
Adhere to Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (ESQ) policies and procedures in every aspect of conducting duties.
Control redrier and packing teams to meet set targets.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
Grade 1 Trade Test Certificate in General Fitting or Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE); credits in English, Mathematics, and Science will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a re-dryer Operator.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft package, and Windows applications.
Good analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Self-motivated and able to work under minimal supervision.
