This dual role is ideal for a professional educator with strong laboratory skills who is passionate about inspiring students in the sciences while ensuring the safe and effective use of laboratory resources.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for both teaching science subjects and managing laboratory operations, including:

• Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics (depending on area of specialization).
• Developing schemes of work, lesson plans, and teaching materials aligned with the IGCSE curriculum.
• Preparing students for internal and external examinations.
• Conducting practical experiments and demonstrations to enhance student learning.
• Managing and maintaining laboratory equipment, chemicals, and supplies.
• Ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures and standards.
• Supporting teachers and students during practical laboratory sessions.
• Maintaining accurate records of laboratory inventory, equipment, and consumables.
• Collaborating with colleagues to enhance teaching standards and curriculum delivery.
• Promoting Christian values and modeling exemplary conduct within and beyond the classroom.
• Upholding the vision, mission, and values of God's Grace Academy in all professional duties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Be between 30 and 45 years of age.
• Be a mature born-again Christian with a strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Education with specialization in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related Science field.
• Applicants wishing to be considered solely for the Laboratory Technician position must possess a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Laboratory Technology.
• Have a minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching science and/or managing laboratory operations in a secondary school or similar educational setting.
• Demonstrate maturity, compassion, discipline, and a heart for serving young people.
• Be a firm and fair disciplinarian with strong moral standards.
• Possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Have sound knowledge of child development, laboratory safety, and basic crisis management.
• Have a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Be physically fit and able to participate in and support school sporting and co-curricular activities.
• Be able to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
• Be aligned with and respectful of the Christian ethos and values of God's Grace Academy.
• Be willing to undergo background checks and comply with child protection policies.
• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and laboratory safety practices.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Be trustworthy, reliable, and able to maintain confidentiality.
