OVERVIEW

The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), an organization entrusted with the assessment, collection, and accounting for tax revenues for the Malawi Government, is inviting applications from versatile and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position(s) in the ICT Division.

POSITION 1: SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS

Grade: D3

Organisational Unit: Commissioner General

Reporting To: Manager Solutions Architect

JOB TYPE: Full Time

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

To develop, test, document, and maintain high-quality software solutions within an Agile/SCRUM environment, ensuring the timely delivery of assigned user stories in accordance with established technical standards, while contributing to code quality, team collaboration, continuous improvement, and the prompt resolution of technical issues.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable software-development ability in C# or another object-oriented language; proficiency in .NET is an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) and relational database concepts.
  • Familiar with versioning control (Git).
  • Willingness to work within a structured Agile team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing, unit-test and document code for assigned sprint stories in line with team standards.
  • Participating fully in all SCRUM ceremonies within the team.
  • Raising and resolving technical blockers promptly, escalating to the Lead Software Developer as required.
  • Conducting peer code reviews and provide constructive feedback to other team members.
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation for all developed components.
  • Applying feedback from code reviews and team leads to continuously improve code quality.



POSITION 2: SYSTEMS ANALYSTS

Grade: D3

Organisational Unit: Commissioner General

Reporting To: Manager Solutions Architect

JOB TYPE: Full Time

OVERALL OBJECTIVE

To analyse, document, and translate business requirements into clear and comprehensive functional and technical specifications that guide the development, integration, and enhancement of ICT systems, while ensuring that implemented solutions meet approved business requirements, functional specifications, and quality standards.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Systems Analysis or a related discipline.
  • Minimum three years' experience in systems or business analysis.
  • Experience producing functional specifications, use cases and process-flow diagrams.
  • Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM delivery and requirements traceability is an advantage.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Producing detailed functional specifications, use-case documents and process-flow diagrams for assigned modules.
  • Conducting requirement workshops with business analysts and translating outputs into technical artefacts.
  • Maintaining and update the requirements traceability matrix for assigned modules.
  • Supporting sprint planning by providing technical requirement clarifications to development teams.
  • Assisting in integration mapping between modules and with external systems.
  • Participating in QA reviews to validate that implemented features match agreed specifications.
