OVERVIEW
Andiamo Youth Cooperative Trust (AYCT), through its Pathway Centre in partnership with Be That Girl Foundation, is seeking a qualified and passionate Mental Health & Social Skills Coach to deliver personal development, wellbeing, employability, and life skills programmes for young women.
The successful candidate will create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment while promoting safeguarding, positive mental health, resilience, confidence, and workplace readiness through learner-centred coaching approaches.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Personal Development & Life Skills
- Facilitate engaging and interactive learning sessions covering personal development, life skills, communication, workplace readiness, career development, and other assigned modules.
- Support participants to build self-awareness, confidence, resilience, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, leadership, and responsible citizenship.
- Deliver practical learning experiences using role plays, simulations, case studies, group discussions, reflective exercises, and peer learning.
- Adapt coaching approaches to meet the diverse learning needs and experiences of participants.
- Promote safeguarding, participant wellbeing, and positive mental health throughout programme delivery.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants should possess:
- Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Education, Community Development, Adult Education, or another relevant Social Science field.
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience facilitating youth development, life skills, psychosocial support, coaching, counselling, education, or community-based programmes.
- Experience working with adolescents, young women, or other vulnerable populations.
- Good understanding of safeguarding, mental health and psychosocial support, gender equality, youth development, and gender-responsive programming.
- Experience using participatory and learner-centred facilitation methods.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both English and Chichewa.
