Job Summary

Beit-CURE Children's Hospital is seeking a qualified Medical Administrative Officer to coordinate the surgical patient pathway, manage patient health records and information systems, facilitate patient access to care, and ensure compliance with hospital quality standards and information governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the surgical patient pathway from scheduling through admission and treatment.

• Maintain and update surgical waiting lists and patient status records.

• Support patients and guardians with admission procedures and treatment information.

• Manage patient follow-ups and monitor attendance rates.

• Create, maintain, store, retrieve, and safeguard patient health records.

• Coordinate digitization and migration of patient records into electronic health record systems.

• Ensure confidentiality, security, and integrity of patient information.

• Collect, validate, analyse, and maintain patient and surgical data.

• Prepare reports on admissions, waiting lists, patient outcomes, and health information.

• Conduct audits of patient records and ensure compliance with quality standards.

• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for health information management.

• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, finance, and ICT teams to improve service delivery.

• Train staff on documentation standards, confidentiality, and health information systems.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, accreditation processes, and hospital committees.


Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma in Health Information Management, Medical Records Management, Records and Archives Management, or a related field.

• Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and a certificate in the relevant disciplines will also be considered.

• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in health information management, patient administration, medical records, hospital admissions, or a similar healthcare role.

• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and quality management systems is an added advantage.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

• Sound knowledge of health information management and medical records systems.

• Understanding of healthcare quality standards, accreditation requirements, confidentiality, and data protection.

• Knowledge of patient admission procedures and surgical scheduling.

• Strong analytical, record management, reporting, and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

• Computer literacy and ability to work independently and within a team.

• High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
