Job Description
Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a locally registered nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in 1995 to complement Government's efforts in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other health related issues.
With funding from CDC, MACRO is implementing the IMPACT Project whose purpose is: To strengthen effective measures to address unmet needs for HTS in the CDC supported districts towards the attainment of 95-95-95 goals.
MACRO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions under the IMPACT Project.
Reports to: Clinic Incharge
About the Role:
To carry out medical laboratory procedures according to the prevailing operational guidelines to ensure delivery of laboratory services that satisfy clients' needs.
Key Duties:
Perform diagnostic laboratory tests (hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, etc.)
Ensure proper handling of samples and maintain quality standards
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
Prepare accurate laboratory reports for clinicians
Requirements
Education Qualifications:
Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institution
Registered with the Medical Council of Malawi
Minimum of 2 years' working experience in a hospital/clinical laboratory
Knowledge and Skills:
Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
Ability to manage conflicts in a team
Competence in conducting various laboratory tests
Sound decision making and problem-solving skills
Excellent quality and customer care skills
Ability to use various medical equipment
