Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures that there are no systems security breaches/individual user folders are well secured, and all public documents are also secured by reviewing software and password securities twice a year.

Ensure compliance with Illovo Group and Entity IT policies and procedures by minimizing audit findings internal, external and ICM.

Ensure efficient procurement of goods and services by making orders in time at the right price within the recommended quality specifications.

Keeps a breast with latest developments within area of expertise and share where necessary with relevant stakeholders.

Maintain good relations with all users and service providers by monitoring help desk logs and ensure that they are closed out within prescribed periods.

Ensure that all IT service providers are working within the Agreed Service Level Agreements by monitoring third party service providers performance.

Provides safe working environment for all employees and contractors under the IT Section by implementing effective SHE systems by conducting four (4) audits per months (or 48 audits per annum) and participating in one SHE talk per month

Implements SHERQ standards as per Illovo Sugar requirements by ensuring that effective corrective and/or preventative action is taken on all identified deviations through Zero major or repeat findings in the section during audits and inspections and Zero "Not started" and "Major Delay" on audit and SHE rep monthly inspection action plans;

Provides monthly report to the IT manager regarding all IT operations and challenges.

Monitors on daily basis, servers' performances, identify system bottlenecks and ensure systems stability;

Perform system updates, configurations, and network troubleshooting

Maintain detailed documentation of all technical issues, steps taken, and resolutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.

Collaborate with other technical teams to resolve multi-faceted incidents

Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)


Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Computer Science, or any related field from a reputable University

At least Minimum 5 years of experience in Level 2 IT Support Role

Advanced IT systems knowledge, including hardware, software, and networking

Proficiency in troubleshooting tools, ticketing systems and escalation procedures for technical issues

In-depth experience with troubleshooting and fixing technical issues and implementing efficient solutions

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to offer quick resolutions to ensure maximum system uptime

Excellent communication abilities

Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams
