OVERVIEW

As Recruitment Machines, our client in the critical minerals exploration sector is seeking a proactive and experienced HSEC Professional to lead Health, Safety, Environment, and Community (HSEC) compliance at its Zomba site. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring environmental compliance, supporting community engagement initiatives, and maintaining compliance with relevant Malawian regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implementing health and safety policies.
• Monitoring workplace safety and environmental compliance.
• Conducting incident investigations and safety reporting.
• Promoting safe work practices.
• Supporting risk assessments.
• Engaging with surrounding communities and stakeholders.
• Ensuring compliance with applicable occupational health and environmental legislation.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of the Malawi Occupational Safety, Health and Welfare Act.
• Experience in incident investigation and safety reporting.
• Strong understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to be based on-site in Zomba.
• Experience in community liaison or stakeholder engagement.
