Job Description
Manana Farm is looking for a farm manager who is ready to work in a rural remote area of Kanjuchi, south eastern side of Mzimba district. The manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, staff supervision, financial budgeting, and production planning to ensure profitable and sustainable 40ha farm operations. Applicants should take note that this is a newly established farm.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Planning planting/harvesting schedules, managing irrigation, monitoring soil health, and implementing pest control.
Staff Supervision: Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising farm laborers, apprentices, or staff.
Financial Control: Preparing budgets, tracking expenditures, managing sales, and ensuring profit targets are met.
Equipment Maintenance: Operating and maintaining farm machinery, and irrigation systems.
Compliance and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records for inventory, production, and financial transactions, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Marketing: Developing markets and selling products, such as livestock, dairy, or crops.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agronomy, or Farm Management.
Experience in commercial farm management of not less than 3 years.
Strong leadership, organizational, and technical skills.
