POSITION: DRIVER

OVERVIEW

Job Title: Driver (1)

Nature of Contract: 12 months Fixed Term

Duty Station: Lilongwe

Reporting to: Workshop Manager/Logistics Administrator

Department: Fleet & Logistics

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for operating company vehicles to transport passengers, goods, or 

equipment to designated locations. The role requires safe driving practices, vehicle 

maintenance checks, and adherence to road safety regulations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive company vehicles safely and responsibly. 

• Transport staff, clients, goods, or materials to assigned destinations. 

• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or maintenance needs. 

• Ensure the vehicle is clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained. 

• Keep accurate records of trips, fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle maintenance. 

• Follow all traffic laws and road safety regulations in Malawi. 

• Assist with loading and unloading goods when required. 

• Ensure the security and safety of passengers, goods, and company property. 

• Plan routes to ensure timely arrivals and deliveries. 

• Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle breakdowns promptly.

• Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE). 

• Valid Malawi driver's licence preferably Class C

• Clean driving record with no serious traffic offences. 

• Proven driving experience (typically 2–5 years, depending on employer 

Requirements. 

• Knowledge of Malawi road networks and traffic regulations.

• Basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting skills. 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when 

necessary.
