Description
UNESCO, in collaboration with the Governments of Botswana, Malawi, and Zambia, through the generous support of the Government of Japan, is implementing the "Safeguarding Living Heritage in Basic Education in Botswana, Malawi, and Zambia" project across 18 schools.
Building on successful pilots in Namibia and Zimbabwe, the initiative utilizes a whole-school approach to integrate intangible cultural heritage (ICH) into basic education systems in Botswana, Malawi, and Zambia.
About the Consultancy
Under the overall authority of the Regional Director and UNESCO Representative to Southern Africa and the direct supervision of the Head of the Culture Unit, the contractor shall develop a country-specific policy brief on integrating and safeguarding ICH in basic education in Malawi.
The consultant will provide expertise and support through planning, facilitation, and participation at the high-level policy dialogue meeting to be held in Malawi in 2026.
