Job Description
Zomba Diocese Health Commission operates under the Social Directorate of the Catholic Diocese of Zomba. Its mission is to advance the healing ministry of Jesus Christ by promoting human life and providing preventive, curative, and rehabilitative services in a holistic manner. The Commission is seeking to recruit motivated and experienced individuals for the following vacant positions at one of its health facilities, St. Robert Health Centre (Sitima).
Grade: I
Duties and Responsibilities:
Diagnosing patients' problems and prescribing the right treatment
Conducting ward rounds of admitted patients to review possible discharges as well as treatment
Providing advice to patients on how to take medication to ensure effectiveness
Supervising staff under him in their routine daily work
Ordering drugs and ensuring that drugs are economically used and that dangerous drugs are properly recorded
Preparing work schedule for members of staff under his supervision and monthly returns of patients
Attending to referral cases from out-patients department
Performing normal surgical operations and attending to theatre emergencies
Supervising clinical paramedical staff
Ensure timely processing of data and dissemination to all relevant stakeholders including timely submission of HIMS report to designated supervisor
Conducting auditing of patients files to ensure quality health services
Performs any other duties assigned from time to time
Requirements
Qualifications:
Degree in Clinical Medicine from reputable training institution
Registered with Medical Council of Malawi
