Job Description

OVERVIEW

Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. We are shop volunteers, women's rights activists, marathon runners, aid workers, coffee farmers, street fundraisers, goat herders, policy experts, campaigners, water engineers and more. And we won't stop until everyone can live life without poverty for good.

Oxfam GB is a member of an international confederation of 21 organisations working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

The Business Development Coordinator – Private Sector & Institutional Partnerships provides strategic coordination and technical leadership for private sector engagement, corporate partnerships, and institutional fundraising across the Southern Africa (SAF) Cluster. The role is responsible for driving pipeline development, partnership design, proposal coordination, and relationship management across private sector actors, corporate foundations, institutional donors, and innovative financing platforms. Working closely with programme teams, partners, and the Business Development Lead, the Coordinator ensures that opportunities are strategically aligned with programme priorities, localisation commitments, and Oxfam's regional strategy.

4. Leadership of Business Development Function and Focal Point Coordination (15%)

  • Coordinate and strengthen focal points across countries and thematic teams.
  • Build internal capability in donor diversification, partnership development, and strategic business development.
  • Promote collaboration, accountability, and shared learning across dispersed teams.

5. Internal Coordination, Programme Integration & Cross-Functional Alignment (15%)

  • Connect country teams, programme managers, technical leads, affiliates, and support functions around funding opportunities.
  • Reduce fragmentation and improve communication across business development efforts.
  • Strengthen alignment between programme design, influencing priorities, and donor engagement.

6. Relationship Management, External Engagement & Strategic Representation (10%)

  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with private sector actors and institutional donors.
