Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons of Malawi origin to fill the following vacant positions in the company. The position is tenable in the Company at its various hydropower stations and reports to the Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

Brief Description of Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting in coordinating mechanical maintenance activities at the hydropower plant
• Supporting the mobilization of resources required for mechanical maintenance works
• Assisting in the preparation and implementation of maintenance plans and schedules for the power station
• Carrying out corrective and routine preventive maintenance of hydropower plant mechanical equipment
• Assisting in conducting condition monitoring and inspections of hydro power plant equipment
• Identifying and facilitating availability of critical spare parts, materials and tools required for maintenance activities
• Supporting implementation of planned rehabilitation, refurbishment and modernization works for the plant
• Assisting in reviewing modifications and new mechanical designs to ensure compatibility with existing systems and operational requirements
• Participating in the preparation and implementation of the power station's capital and operational budgets in line with departmental objectives
• Preparing and compiling monthly, quarterly, mid-year and annual maintenance reports

Job Specifications

• A holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained from an accredited institution
• Must have 2 years post qualification experience in manufacturing, mechanical or related industry
• Physically fit and willing to work odd hours and weekends
• Should be aged between 23 and 40
