Job Description

OVERVIEW

Visions Malawi is looking for an Accounts & Administration Officer to join our team based in Lilongwe. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting, financial record-keeping and administrative operations of the business.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong numerical and reconciliation skills.
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Honest, organized, proactive and able to work independently.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.
  • Record sales, purchases, expenses, receipts and payments.
  • Prepare and process invoices, bills and payment documentation.
  • Perform daily bank, cash and sales reconciliations.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial and administrative documents.
  • Assist with VAT, tax and other statutory records and submissions.
  • Monitor petty cash and daily cash transactions.
  • Assist with stock and inventory accounting and reconciliations.
  • Prepare regular financial and management reports.
  • Support procurement, supplier management and general office administration.
  • Ensure accounting and administrative procedures are properly followed.
  • Provide general administrative support to management and other departments.
