Malawi National Council of Sports (MNCS) is a statutory body with mandate to develop, promote, encourage and control all forms of sport in the country.

In order to fulfill its mandate, MNCS invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill various vacant positions as follows:

Accountant

Grade: CS5

Reporting to: Director of Finance

Position function

To ensure prudent management of finances and related accounting books and documents

Main Duties

1. Coordinating financial accounting activities within departments and sports associations
2. Supervising payroll management and monitoring staff loans/advances.
3. Maintaining and updating Fixed Asset Register including verifications and allocations monitoring
4. Assisting in preparation of management accounts and statutory financial statements
5. Ensuring sports associations submit financial returns and undertake reconciliation on the same
6. Providing information and assistance to audit assignments
7. Preparing bank reconciliation statements for Council’s bank accounts.

Qualification and experience

• Degree in Accountancy/Business Administration
• Professional qualification in accounting (ACCA Certificate level or CIMA Strategic level)
• 4 years at accounting experience
